1. Write a character sketch of the Tsar? [6]
(জারের চরিত্র চিত্রায়ন করো।)
Ans : The Tsar in the story 'Three Questions' is the central character of the story. The questions came into the mind of the Tsar and was desperately seeking the answer. He is a thoughtful and prudent man. Though he was the supreme ruler with an absolute power he had shown respect to the wisdom of the hermit. The Tsar is also a sympathetic man and he had shown it to the frail and weak hermit and the wounded man. In spite of being a royalty the Tsar is a hard-working man who could dig two beds at a stretch. In a word the Tsar is a wise, merciful ruler and a great human being.
বঙ্গানুবাদ : Three Questions' গল্পে জার হলেন কেন্দ্রীয় চরিত্র। জারের মনে প্রশ্নগুলির উদয় হয়েছিল এবং তিনি প্রবলভাবে সেগুলির উত্তর খুঁজছিলেন। তিনি চিন্তাশীল এবং বিচক্ষণ মানুষ। যদিও তিনি সম্পূর্ণ ক্ষমতাযুক্ত চূড়ান্ত শাসক, তবু তিনি সন্ন্যাসীর জ্ঞানকে সম্মান করেন। জার একজন সহানুভূতিশীল মানুষ এবং তিনি দুর্বল ক্ষীণদেহী সন্ন্যাসী এবং আহত লোকটিকে এই সহানুভূতি দেখিয়েছেন। রাজপরিবারের হওয়া স্বত্ত্বেও জার একজন কঠোর পরিশ্রমী মানুষ যিনি একবারে দুটি বীজতলা খুঁড়ে ফেলতে পারেন। এককথায় বললে জার একজন জ্ঞানী, করুণাময় শাসক এবং একজন মহান মানুষ।

("আমি আপনাকে ফেরার পথে হত্যা করার সংকল্প করেছিলাম।”-কে এ কথা বলেছেন? বক্তা কাকে হত্যা করতে চেয়েছিলেন এবং কেন হত্যা করতে চেয়েছিলেন? যখন লোকটিকে হত্যা করার চেষ্টা করেছিলেন তখন বক্তার কী ঘটেছিল?)
Ans : The bearded man, whom the Tsar nursed and the hermit gave shelter in his cottage for rest and recovery, said this.
The speaker or the bearded man had wanted to kill the Tsar because the Tsar had executed his brother and confiscated his property previously and the man wanted to take revenge.
The man had hidden in the wood for the Tsar's return and when the Tsar did not return till the evening, he came out of his ambush. But he was detected and wounded by the Tsar's bodyguard. To save his life, he ran to the hermit's cottage and fainted near the Tsar who nursed him to save his life.
বঙ্গানুবাদ : দাড়িওয়ালা লোকটি, জার যার সেবা করেছিলেন এবং সন্ন্যাসী তাঁর কুটিরে বিশ্রাম ও আরোগ্যের জন্য আশ্রয় দিয়েছিলেন, তিনি এ কথা বলেছিলেন।
বক্তা বা দাড়িওয়ালা লোকটি জারকে হত্যা করতে চেয়েছিল কারণ জার তার ভাইকে হত্যা করেছিল এবং তার সম্পত্তি কেড়ে নিয়েছিলেন এবং লোকটি প্রতিশোধ নিতে চেয়েছিল।
লোকটি জারের ফেরার অপেক্ষায় জঙ্গলে লুকিয়েছিল এবং যখন সন্ধ্যা অবধি জার ফিরলেন না, সে গুপ্তস্থান থেকে বেরিয়ে এল। কিন্তু জারের দেহরক্ষীরা তাকে চিনে ফেলল এবং তাকে আঘাত করল। প্রাণ বাঁচাতে সে সন্ন্যাসীর কুটিরের দিকে গেল এবং জারের কাছে গিয়ে অজ্ঞান হয়ে গেল। তার প্রাণ রক্ষা করতে জার তার শুশ্রুষা করলেন।
3. How was the wounded man revived and nursed? Why did he ask forgiveness of the Tsar? What did the Tsar do when he had gained the man for a friend? (H.S. 2019) [2+2+2=6]
(কীভাবে আহত লোকটির সেবা করা হয়েছিল এবং তাকে পুনরুজ্জীবিত করা হয়েছিল? কেন সে জারের কাছে ক্ষমাপ্রার্থনা করেছিল? লোকটিকে বন্ধু হিসেবে যখন পেলেন তখন জার কী করলেন?)
Ans : When the man fainted before them, the Tsar and the hermit unfastened his clothes and washed the wound in his stomach and bandaged it with Tsar's handkerchief and the hermit's towel. After nursing him in this way when the blood stopped flowing, the wounded man revived and he was taken into the hermit's cottage for the shelter at night.
The man had come to kill the Tsar and was waiting for him in the forest to attack him. But when he himself was mortally wounded, it was the Tsar who saved his life by nursing him with care. This attitude of the Tsar changed the wounded man's mind and forgetting about his revengefulness he became repentent and asked for forgiveness.
The Tsar was pleased to get the enemy as a friend and promised to return the seized property of the wounded man's brother. He also arranged to send his own royal physician for the treatment of the wounded man.
বঙ্গানুবাদ : যখন জার এবং সন্ন্যাসীর সামনে লোকটি অজ্ঞান হয়ে গেল তখন তাঁরা তার পোশাক খুলে ফেললেন এবং তার পেটের ক্ষতটি পরিষ্কার করে দিলেন এবং জারের রুমাল আর সন্ন্যাসীর তোয়ালে দিয়ে তার ক্ষতস্থান ব্যান্ডেজ করে দিলেন। এভাবে শুশ্রুষা করার পর যখন রক্তপড়া থেমে গেল, আহত লোকটি পুনরুজ্জীবিত হয়ে উঠল এবং রাতের আশ্রয়ের জন্য তাকে সন্ন্যাসীর কুটিরে নিয়ে যাওয়া হল।
লোকটি এসেছিল জারকে হত্যা করতে এবং তাকে আক্রমণ করবে বলে জঙ্গলে অপেক্ষা করছিল। কিন্তু সে নিজেই যখন মারাত্মক আহত হল জারই যত্ন করে সেবা দিয়ে তার জীবন রক্ষা করল। জারের এই আচরণ আহত লোকটির মন পরিবর্তন করেছিল এবং প্রতিশোধের কথা ভুলে সে অনুতপ্ত বোধ করল এবং কম প্রার্থনা করল।
জার শত্রুকে বন্ধু হিসেবে পেয়ে খুশি হলেন এবং লোকটির বাজেয়াপ্ত করা সম্পত্তি ফেরত দেওয়ার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিলেন। তিনি তাঁর রাজবৈদ্যকেও আহত লোকটির চিকিৎসার জন্য প্রেরণ করার ব্যবস্থা করলেন।
4. What were the questions that had occurred to the Tsar? Why did he need correct answers to those questions? What did he do when he was not satisfied with the answers of the learned men? [WBCHSE-2016]

Ans : The three questions that the Tsar wanted to get answers of were-what is the right time to start every work, who are the right people to listen to, and what is the work. that needed his utmost attention.
The Tsar needed correct answers to those three questions because he hoped that, if he could have those information then he would never fail in anything he might do.
The Tsar was not satisfied with the answers given by the learned men because the answers differed from one another.
The Tsar disagreed with the answers given by the learned men and did not give any reward to anyone. The Tsar being dissatisfied decided to consult a hermit who lived in the wood and was well-known for his wisdom.
বঙ্গানুবাদ : যে তিনটি প্রশ্নের উত্তর জার চেয়েছিলেন সেগুলি হল- প্রতিটি কাজ শুরু করার সঠিক সময় কোনটি, কারা সঠিক ব্যক্তি যাদের কথা শোনা উচিত, এবং কোন্ কাজে তাঁর সর্বাধিক মনোযোগ দেওয়ার প্রয়োজন।
জারের ওই তিনটি প্রশ্নের সঠিক উত্তরের প্রয়োজন ছিল কারণ তিনি আশা করেছিলেন যে যদি তিনি ওই তথ্যগুলি জানেন তাহলে তিনি কোনো কাজেই ব্যর্থ হবেন না।
জার জ্ঞানী ব্যক্তিদের দেওয়া উত্তরে সন্তুষ্ট হননি কারণ উত্তরগুলি একটি অপরটির থেকে ভিন্ন ছিল।
অসন্তুষ্ট জার তখন এক সন্ন্যাসীর সঙ্গে পরামর্শ করার সিদ্ধান্ত নেন যিনি বনে থাকতেন এবং তাঁর জ্ঞানের জন্য বিখ্যাত ছিলেন। জার কোনো বিদ্বান ব্যক্তির উত্তরের সঙ্গে একমত হলেন না এবং কাউকে কোনো পুরষ্কার দিলেন না।
